Why is google getting into hardware? Glass, Car, Fiber, Robots and others

GOOGLE GLASS

GOOGLE CAR

GOOGLE FIBER

GOOGLE ROBOTS
Google bought Boston Dynamics in 2013.
It is the eighth robotics company that Google
has acquired in the last half-year.
Executives at the Internet giant are circumspect about
what exactly they plan to do with their robot collection.

  1. The google glass is cool; but with all innovative products there are pros and cons. There will be a lot of controversy behind this new technology. As far as the robots, the artificial intelligence of the robots can presumably take over the universe. This scares me!!!

  2. I believe that the Google glass will be highly helpful to many but I feel like it would be overbearing and be come annoying for me. The idea of having stuff pop up in front of me all the time makes me want to pass on this innovation. The driverless cars I found to be most unique as this will become the most fascinating trend I sense in the coming decades. The only question for me comes in how and when malfunctions can occur, as artificial intelligence must be continually improved and revised. The development of the Google fiber will be interesting to see as this will bring about much improvement in businesses and homes in the coming years. However, the Google robots are what concern me the most. While I understand a number of these machines are being developed for military use, I believe we should stay at caution for how we use these robots and what capabilities we give them.

  3. The Google glass was cool product hopefully we can become the next Google fiber city so other big cities like ours can develop new technology. Google coming out with these robots is scary to me and my future lol my question now is what is Google next move I love it!!!

  4. Although Google might be making this technology with the intent to design innovative robotics with their self driving cars, robots, and other machinery, just imagine if that technology was placed into the wrong hands.....i.e "I, Robot"!!!!

  5. What I love most about Google is their ability to innovate in ways that creates a demand for products that consumers imagined were impossible. Although I am not enthusiastic about the style and functionality of the Google glass, I love that Google created a product that will spark a revolution of innovation. Also, I am extremely excited about the future of the eyewear. I look forward to seeing how the style, capabilities, and demand changes in the future.

Also, I look forward to keeping insight into Google Fiber and how it preforms in the test cities.

  6. I believe that the google fiber could potentially change the world of internet forever. Anything that can fill a 64 gb ipad in 8 minutes makes me wonder just what kind of technology is google really dealing with!

  7. Wow! Google never ceases to amaze me with there innovative creations. Google fiber is completely revolutionary and will challenge the every company to keep up. Its seems its going to come to a point where Google is going to take over the market. I think it's safe to say Google uses alien technology.

  8. I learned so much this class period. Expand your horizons and many great things will come. Google is a powerhouse and will soon bring many great products to the market. The robots scare me though. Hopefully robots don't replace fast food chain jobs. The glasses are cool, but command control over my privacy. I can't wait to see how fiber improve Atlanta's technological prowess.

  9. I really would like to get Google glass. There are a a lot of moments where I feel as if Google Glass would help me to better capture my life. Carrying around a camera is burdensome, and pulling out my phone can make me miss the moment. Google Glass would eliminate these problems.
