The Future Through a Green Lenses

 By: Charles Degeorge Jr.

Trying to predict what the technological future hold is a very interesting topic. The innovations of tomorrow may not be on the auction block today but all of the prototypes has the world waiting anxiously.  Companies and inventors have changed the way we look ways to organize, communicate and entertain. Now all of these things are aesthetically pleasing and gets your mind to wonder how far we can go.  Now that we have entered into an area in witch nothing less than a touch screen phone with a camera and internet is acceptable, and the people being more continues on the effect we have on the world.  How do we combine one with the other?

Well we already have plans to lower our footprint in the world we live in, but how often can we say that we are following these plans to the best of our abilities? Most of us do not know are monthly intake of water or the admissions we put out.  As a people we know we need to do better but we all do not always have time to pay attention or keep track as well as we would like.  Well the great and innovative minds of our world could have made it a little easier.

There are a series of devices that not only are aesthetically pleasing and beyond our time, but also good for the environment.  Such as the Electrolux eco cleaner. This invention is a portable dish washer that uses ultrasonic waves ionize food particles on the dishes and converts it to reusable compost for plants.  Now I must admit that it’s portable function maybe a little too much. I do not think we will be bring our fine china plates with us to a restaurant, but maybe that function will become more useful in the future. For now an in home eco dish washer would serve a nice purpose even if it is just to help you significant other with their occasional green thumb.  The next invention helps monitor your water intake. The 1 liter faucet only allows you 1 liter of water to wash your hands. The theory is that we waste about six liters of water in the typical 30 second hand wash and use only one. The water is stored in a tube like structure connected to the faucet and slowly releases water when you turn it on while still giving you the time and enough water pressure to get the job done.  The faucet looks pretty neat and serves a purpose. There are many more of these prototypes not all or being showcase a few of them are in the links below.

  1. I think the faucet idea is great. Many people neglect how much water we waste while simply washing our hands. I am curious why the electrolux eco cleaner is portable, seems like it would make more sense to replace kitchen dishwashers in homes.
