Boeing
Commercial Airplanes designs, assembles, markets and sells large commercial jet
aircraft and provides product-related maintenance and training to customers
worldwide. That’s why the industry and the public at large are surprised with
their newest innovation which is not a plane but a cell phone. Boeing is set to release a smartphone
that can self-destruct, but the device's security features call for the utmost
secrecy.
The Black has
been in top secret development for the last 36 months. Not only will the Black
be able to encrypt phone calls, the Black can delete all data and information
stored as well stop working or “self-destruct” if tampered with and/or pried
open. The Black will measure 5.2-by-2.7 inches which is vaguely bigger than the
iPhone. The Black will access different cellular networks using multiple SIM
cards. In addition the phone can be configured to connect to satellites and
biometric sensors and can be modified to run on solar power. This officially makes
this phone the phone of spies and total espionage.
With no official
release date The Black will be sold primarily to government agencies and
companies who are contractually engaged with them. This means the public will
not have access to this phone. This is unfortunate because I’m sure anyone with
sensitive information on their phones would love this. The ultimate snooping
girlfriend defender; until then we will just have to settle with the basic
password security installed in the phone.

I think this is going to be blocked by the government.
ReplyDeleteI could never really see this becoming official. It sounds really dangerous, if it lands into the wrong hands. All in all a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great idea! We live in a world were data is king and with this phone limiting the access of data if tampered with etc this could open up a whole new market for software and hardware that disrupts the easy accessibility of data! Companies like facebook, google etc are making a killing off our everyday lives by selling our data to big corporations hopefully this product will ignite the thoughts of others to create similar products for the general public.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with the first two comments how is this going to be regulated? The black market will eat this idea up and it will soon be in the hands of the wrong people. Definitely do not see this happening.
ReplyDeleteThe self-destructing phone is an interesting idea. I can definitely see the use for government and military purposes. However, once this hits the market other manufacturers will replicate it. This means that other countries, and potentially U.S. enemies could have their own "Black" phones that the U.S. would not be able to intercept.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that the black market will take this idea and run with it. There is already so much that our government knows about us that we do not know that they know. This self - destructing phone is very smart, and I hope it will be used properly.
ReplyDeleteAs discussed in the article i can see how useful this could be in the CIA. Hiding Intel is one of the most important things to government.
