Social media has changed the world. Social media is defined as the interaction among people in
which they create, share or exchange information and ideas in virtual
communities and networks. The top three social media sites according to
ebizmba.com are:
- Facebook (900,000,000 users),
- Twitter (310,000,000 users) and
- LinkedIn (250,000,000 users).
Tumblr is
sixth on the list with 110,000,000 users while Instagram is seventh with
85,000,000 users. These sites have transcended
the way we communicate we each other and the world. The majority of the
breaking news our generation receives comes through the vice of twitter. For
example when the Philadelphia Eagles released DeSean Jackson I found out through
twitter before the report was released by ESPN.
Twitter is the fastest outlet for news in our generation. Twitter does produce “false” news, but our
generation is able to depict what is real and fake news.
Twitter is also a form entertainment. For example, meme’s, and vines have made

Twitter is one the best social media websites if gives you the opportunity to market your brand to certain target markets that cater to your life style. Twitter is one the fastest ways to market yourself once you tweet something about yourself and use an hashtag everyone in the world will know about your brand within minutes.
ReplyDeleteI like Twitter personally because it is real time and live. It connects the famous with the normal, and it makes the normal famous. I wonder what will be next though... Maybe two brands should collaborate? I also wonder how fake accounts and robots play into the counts..
